Garnock   96.  Annan. 7

As reported by Allan McTaggart

After a six week layoff from competitive rugby, last Saturday Garnock returned to action at Lochshore in a West Div.One encounter against Annan.
The home were bolstered by the return of two players from a trip down under to New Zealand, and started brightly playing towards Kilbirnie. After 5 minutes a well rehearsed threequarter move led to a try by centre Jared Reekie converted by Keir Walker.

The visitors immediately retaliated and after a series of quickly taken short penalties levelled the scores at 7 all in 15 minutes. This proved to be the only time the Garnock line was threatened in the whole game.
Captain Matt Shiells rumbled over for a typical forward try followed by the referee awarding the homesters a penalty try when he tried to repeat the move. 19- 7 to Garnock after 25 minutes then Keir Walker put a neat grubber kick to the left corner for brother Rory to touch down, securing a bonus point.
The valley team were completely dominating possession, with their backs enjoying the dry sunny conditions and scored three more tries from Keir Walker, Rory Dominy and prop Joe Chapman to lead 45-7 at the break.
The second half continued in the same fashion, Garnock scoring regularly, not quite reaching the century, tries being scored by speedy winger Ewan Perry (3), Johnny Watson, Stuart Wilson, Jordan Taggart, Rory Walker (2) and Rory Dominy making sixteen in total.
The final score was 96-7, helping Garnock’s points differential and moving them up the league into a challenging position for promotion.
They travel away to Castle Douglas this Saturday to meet high flying Stewarty
